What began as a wistful stoned conversation has turned into.. well, actual plans. I'm so excited! But first:
As you probably already know (thanks Facebook), I registered for a few spring courses. I'm going forth with Harvard Extension School because I like how their programs are designed, and because I get to take a few classes and then apply for matriculation, so I can prove that I'm awesome and smart and, most importantly, totally bad ass. Right. I'm taking a poetry writing class and one on British Victorian horror/crime lit; hopefully they will be fun or exciting (or both) and not overwhelming. It's just two classes, so I'm thinking the not overwhelming part should be easy. Anyway, this all leads me to having a spring break again. Yay! Right in the middle of March. More yay!
Life has been extremely cold in Boston--seriously, the high yesterday was 17 degrees--and I figure by mid-March I'll be a solid cube of ice and frozen human innards. How convenient that I will know someone living somewhere much warmer at that time! Anyway, I babbled to Elise about how awesome it would be to spend a week in Mexico in March with awesome Lizzy and Anika, and she got really excited, and we decided to try to make it happen. Turns out that flights are sort of reasonably priced (they're not, really, and I'm going to die a little paying for them, but so worth it) andddd.. we're actually going to go! Going to start a ramen diet to afford this, I think, but it works two fold: I will save money and look hawt in a bikini. Woo!
Is it weird to make vacation plans with girlfriend of three months? We both kind of feel like it maybe should be, but we don't care.
Anyway, my car looks to be done so I'm going to end here. Love you all. Stay warm!

Monday afternoon is never ending
Yay! My first term at graduate school is officially over and I think I got straight A's this term. This program is really different from Scripps: less reading, less writing, fewer tests, but longer days and more classes at a time. Also, since I have to spend 10 hours a week at my school placement (a middle school out in the suburbs) and I'm working 15 hours a week, I feel like I'm never home.
Lynn and I just madly cleaned the apartment. It needed to be done, but also, some of the ladies from my cohort are coming over in about half an hour to have an SDEP (secondary dual educators program) ladies event. I am going to do a Passion Parties demo (ask Sarah Schneider, I am brilliant) and then we're going to hang out and maybe order pizza or something. I'm excited.
Now I am sitting on my bed with the gray cat and wasting a few minutes. I hate cleaning, by the way.
I miss you guys but everything is pretty rocking around here. You all have an open invitation to come crash in our apartment whenever you want to come visit Portland. We would love to have you. (Providing you aren't severely allergic to cats. Then there could be a problem.)

I'm in a state
Hi, all...
This is making me feel quite technologically deficient; I've no idea how to do exciting things, and sadly, haven't much exciting to say. However, I appreciate the opportunity to push lots and lots of buttons and constantly sign into things and out of things, it makes me feel accomplished. So thank you, and I shall practice, and perhaps make up for the dullness of these with a GIANT amount of them!
It's absolutely lovely to hear from people here and have updates, it makes me smile, we should all update and smile more often. Pictures too are really rad, and Maggie, thanks a million for that exceptionally flattering final picture.
I have left the nomadic lifestyle behind for a bit and am back home in Maine until my sanity is once again hanging by a thread and I return to the lower New England states, after which I shall head westward to Seattle and then Mexico.
Everybody, please try to visit Anika and me in Mexico. You'll have a place to stay, lots of love, and some really lecherous winks to look forward to. Not to mention sun, beaches, and tequila. And winks. REALLY good winks. I've been practicing.
Unfortunately (for I know this has been a thrill ride), I must return to the personal statement writing and list making part of my life.
Love to each and every one of you.

A couple photos...
First off, excellent idea, this blog. I'm excited to feel a bit more in touch with what all of you are up to.
It was great to make merry with so many of you for our slightly tardy Thanksgiving!! My house feels really empty with all of you gone and Rachel leaving in a day or two. I'm uploading a smattering of photos from the festivities. Add captions yourselves!
Miss you all! More on my life when I've got something to tell...

Trying this out...
Hello!
I am sprawled out on the bed in our 10th floor downtown overpriced apartment, stalling on my homework and listening to Lynn explain to our cat Sissy that the cat can't eat anymore right now because she eats too fast and throws up. Now there is a sort of plaintive mew-ing going on. I assume it is coming from a cat.
Because our building is right on campus, we often hear crazy drunk undergrads out the window. Sometimes I smell recreational pharmaceuticals in the elevator or in our hallway. It makes me feel nostalgic for college and you guys. :-)
I have two weeks left in my term, which is basically just two days of school per week (loooong days) and two days of student teaching per week (not so long-feeling). Gotta do lots of projects and stuff in the meantime.
Anyway, maybe I'll post pictures or come up with something more clever later. Just thought I'd jump on Tocchi's brilliant bandwagon!

This Thing
Hi!
We're all far away and busy with things all the time. It's fantastic, but makes keeping in touch a little harder. Rachel and I talked about it last night and Sarah agreed that it might be fun to set up a silly blog where we can all post when life gets interesting. Better than Facebook because there aren't a million other stupid people and more fun than email?
I'm hung over and distracted, but I think you know where I'm trying to go with this. So sign up if you need to (but you shouldn't need to because I sent this to all gmail accounts) and post shit. Awesome. Yay. I love you!
Oh, right. Also, add a label for your posts so we can have some kind of organizational system. See? It makes sense. Okay bye!
